If you’re someone like me
And you had to grow up
Learning how to be strong
Perhaps when you cried
You felt denied
You felt like there was no one
To catch your tears
So what’s the use in expressing
Such a thing
So you learned how to suck it up
You learned how to count on yourself
To make a better life for yourself
I’ll figure it out
But, there comes a time
When you and all your strength
Is just not strong enough
And you need a strength beyond yourself
You know, I truthfully found this strength
In Jesus
And not because that was the religion of my family
There came a point in my life when even my religion was broken
Even my religion was not strong enough anymore to save me
I was 18 years old when I experienced this traumatic bicycle accident
That I was ejected from my bicycle onto my face
And, my face was disfigured
The doctors had to wire my mouth shut
I lost teeth
I lost my beauty
And, ultimately I lost myself
I couldn't dare call myself Victory anymore
But, that's when I met Victory in Jesus
I met the person of Jesus
And he said, “You don’t have to pretend like everything’s okay”
That’s not what I meant when I said to have faith
It’s okay if you’re crying
You’re being true instead of lying
About what you're going through
Trust me to make all things new
And I promise you, that I will make all things new
I will make all things new, my daughter
I will make all things new, my son
I will be victory for you
You don’t have to
Just like that, here we are
